Landscapes in change: Expectations

These thoughts were inspired by the lections that I attended in Bergen and espesially the picture of the man on busstop.
Waiting, expecting something new to come.
Investitions, development...cargo cult.
They say it's a common phenomen for the North nowadays.
But at the same time the processes of industrialisation and oil/gas/fish industries shows that somebody is living only in today's and not care about the future. And the third group is those, who live in the past and carry their emotional luggage, regreting ofgood old times that passed.

Different cultures and locations have different perception of time and space. the attitude to the past and present is different.
I'd like to analyze these regularities and understand why do people look at the past as on the perfect time or wait the briht future to come.
and how it is connected to the space. Who lives in the past, who lives in the present and who lives in the future? Maybe it will be possible to make a map of time perception.

Or to analyse how this perception was changing with time.

Attitudes and perception of time and space. You are close to touching upon themes such as mentality and exchange of ideas. In Murmansk we went to see a project on a youth house that made an impression on the lot. I think you should talk to your fellow students about it, could be really inspiring for you.
